Indian ads has evolved over 90's period, reflecting the development that the country's economy as well as society has undergone through.

Let see, some Nostalgic ads which will takes us to the forgetten 90's period.

Glucose-D

Gabbar was the first villian to become the brand Ambassador in 1976.

Soon after the movie "Sholay" was released, in an innovative manner  Britannia came out with an ad campaign for its biscuits, Glucose-D which was targeted towards kids and chose Amjad Khan, the anatagonist, instead of the heroes of the movie as the brand   Ambassador. Most interesting: Amjad Khan gave all the money to   charity that he charged for this ad.

Liton Tiger T

Lipton’s Tea is a ad for tea manufacturing company. It features a potrait of an Indian woman dressed in jewels, alongside their trademark slogan promising a cup of tea ‘direct from the Tea Gardens to the Tea Pot’.

By 1892, one million packets of Lipton’s Tea were sold every week in Britain. This was achieved by the sheer expansion of their estates, but also by Lipton’s commercial awareness. Lipton’s sold a fine tea product available in various weights, appealing to a wide range                                                                                                                       of customer budgets.

Afterwards, another ad campaign has released, where a hunter and a tiger  are facing infront of each other. Here, beside there is a poster on Lipton  tiger tea.

The Liril Girl

Model of the advert: Karen Lunel

In the 1970, Hindustan Lever was introducing a lime soap in India for the first time. It represented freshness and fun.
The video upload on the site was not the original Liril ad from 1975. Instead this was an ad, which was reshot with Karen in 1985, after an accident in Mumbai had left her with 60 stitches on her face, and sparked off rumours that Karen Lunel is dead.

Atlas:

By 1965, Atlas had emerged as India's largest cycle manufacturer. Greater demand, higher production and ever-expanding markets made Atlas a name to reckon with. Atlas introduced the first racing Bicycle in India in 1978.

Interesting, from the very first year of export, 12000 Atlas Cycles delivered out of the plant. Its no looking back since then. From it's first delivery onwards Atlas Cycles was sent overseas in 1958. Atlas has since then exported to several countries.

USHA :

Usha International Ltd, is one of India's leading goods selling company with a sales of over Rs 1010 crores. Established in 1934-1935.

Remember, this advertisment of "USHA" sewing machine. It got quite popular in thw 90's period. And also the slogan for this campaign: "BETTER BUY USHA YOU CAN'T BUY BETTER". That old time price range from Rs 180/- upwards. Available on hire purchase too. Mostly, this ad influenced on the housewives and the tailor to do some works for running the extra needs.

    Evolution of Frooti packing

Parle Agro is an Indian private           Ltd. company founded in 1984 that owns   Frooti, appy, LMN, Hippo and Bailey.

They are the largest Indian food and beverage company,   with brands that have won the hearts of consumers   everywhere, they are in almost every home   across the   length and breadth of India.

Till date it is one of the finest mango drink in the   market. It is India's first fruit drink brand with tetra   pack.

Starting from promoting national integration, some iconic campaigns have done to promoting these indian products in the market. It been interesting, while seeing  90's such ads that advertised over TV, print, outdoor and digital media.  The new and old ads were evolved in the passing years. Also, it connects the old good time with their audience.

And many more vintage ads are there excluding these popular ads.
